January’s meeting was held at Nathan’s shop. Nathan shared his process for making raised panel doors and shaker doors. This included a demonstration of his shaper set up and his double miter cutting thingy ma jig.

Decembers meeting was a potluck at Rand’s shop. A video on bandsaw boxes was presented and discussed. Carl Davis provided a shop made vice that was given as a door prize. Steven Castillo was the lucky winner. Rick Huckabee shared his recent trip to the ER and offered some good safety advice. Great food and great meeting!!

This month’s meeting was held at Nick’s. We opened Nick’s new saw mill and watched a video on setting up a saw mill. Nick provided sausage wraps and cookies. Great meeting. Thank you for hosting Nick, maybe next time, I will remember to take Pictures. lol…..
Meeting 10-3-24
This month’s meeting was held at Randy’s shop. This year’s challenge participants presented their concealment projects. Participants included Randy Woods, Ty Gregory and Matthew Ireton. Randy clenched the win with his Bandsaw Box. New comers Jessie and Kim Moss joined our crew. Chef Danny served pork steak. Fantastic meeting!!

This month’s meeting was held at Nick William’s shop. Nick’s wife prepared a delicious Mexican stack. Nick provided a video on the shop smith mark7 and Danny presented his latest jewelry box. Great meeting!!
Meeting 8-1-24
August’s meeting was held at Randy’s shop. Danny served up a spread of spaghetti and salad. Carl Davis did an excellent job on presenting bowtie inlays. Nick, Danny, and Carl walked away with door prizes after proving themselves the masters of ladder ball. A fun time and a great meeting!!
Meeting 6-6-24
What a Meeting!!! This months meeting was held at Randy’s shop. Kent Shepherd visited our club and did a presentation on the history of woodworking. The emphasis was on hand tools, which on a basic level really have not changed much over the years. The only significant change is in quality and manufacturing. Great presentation!!! Randy served brisket and sausage. Most members agreed, the brisket was the best ever!! :) …. Great meeting!!
Meeting 5-2-24
May’s meeting was held at Randy’s shop and was all about making pens. Larry, Matthew, and Frank all brought their lathes and helped out. Pizza was provided. Great meeting, thanks to everyone!!
Meeting 4-4-24
April’s meeting was held at Ty Gregory’s shop. Ty demonstrated his new system for sharpening lathe tools and also turned a small bowl. Adam experienced the lathe for the first time. Ty provided pizza. Great meeting!!
Meeting 3-7-24
The crew met at Randy’s shop. A few members brought and shared some projects they are working on, including Matthew’s box, Ricks charcuterie board, and Carl’s sculpture. We welcomed newest member, Reade Dennis to the club. Good to have you Reade!! Pizza was provided.

February’s meeting was held at Brian Gerstenberger’s shop. Chili dogs were served. Mrs. Gerstenberger served up some awesome cherry and peach cobler. Carl shared his recent projects; chop sticks and his sculpture chingaletta. Everyone had a great time!!

The West Texas Woodworkers kicked off 2024 at Nathan Brummett’s shop. Nathan gave a tour of the shop and demonstrated a few of his production tools. What an awesome shop!! Danny served up some excellent chili!! Frank Barker joined the club. Welcome to our group Coach!!

What a turn out!! Everyone showed up at Randy’s shop with lots of Christmas goodies. The participants of the recent box making class presented their finished boxes and Carl Davis gave a presentation on making a box with a continuous grain pattern. Larry Williams joined the club. Everyone finally got to show off their boxes in our final day of class. Kent finished off the class by demonstrating some of his jigs and going into detail on his router table set ups. We had a great time and look forward to doing this again!!

November’s meeting was held at Randy’s shop. Randy gave a short presentation on the flags he has been working on. Danny Farr served up some chicken gumbo that was enjoyed by all. We also welcomed a new member, Adam Vree, to the club. Welcome Adam!!
Box Making Class, Presented by Kent Shepherd. Day 2 (10-28-23)
second day of box making class was another fun one. This day primarily focused on making the box’s lid.
Box Making Class, Presented by Kent Shepherd (10-14-23)
Seven members of our club signed up for a box making class, instructed by Kent Shepherd. Day one of the class focused on the bottom, front, back and ends of the box. Class participants include: Randy woods, Carl Davis, Nick Williams, Matthew Ireton, Steven Castillo, Danny Farr, and Brian Gerstenberger. Everyone is looking forward to day 2 of this class which will be held October 28th!!

Octobers meeting was held at Rick Huckaby’s. Rick served sausage wraps and stuffed peppers. His wife provided some amazing pumpkin bread. Matthew Ireton led the meeting by demonstrating wood stabilization and sharing his knowledge of wood resin. Randy shared his recent wavy flag project. Great meeting, and great presentation. Annual Bar-B-Q (9-16-23)
We had a great time at Ty Gregory’s house. Hamburgers, sausage, stuffed peppers and other treats were served. The kids had a great time swimming, and running around. Ty and Lauren were great hosts, Thank you!!
