September’s meeting was held at Brian Gerstenberger’s shop. Danny Farr shared his recent lathe projects that he made in turners class. He also demonstrated making a scratch awl. Sausage wraps were served. New comer Bryan Kaplan joined us for the first time. Great meeting, great food, and excellent presentation by Danny!!

This month’s meeting was held at Nathan Brummet’s shop. Nathan shared some tips and tricks for installing crown molding and baseboards. He makes it look easy. We also had a couple of guests show up for the meeting, Coach Barker and Nick Williams. Good to have you guys. Thanks Nathan, great demonstration!!

Club met at Randy’s shop. Guest Kent Shepard did a presentation on shop jigs. Wonderful presentation!! Randy provided hamburgers.

Club met at Brian Gerstenburger’s shop. Guest presenter Jim Bob Burgoon gave a presentation on segmented bowls. Brian provided brisket with some delicious sides and an impressive lemon cake for dessert. Derek Palmer joined the club. Welcome Derek!! Fantastic meeting, thanks Brian!!

The club met at Randy’s shop. Our iphone amplifiers were judged by all members and Carl Davis became this year’s victor!! Mathew Ireton cooked some tasty burgers. Great job everyone!!
Shop Sale 3-2-23
The club met at Nathan Brummet’s father-in-law’s shop, for a tool sale.

Club met at Randy’s shop. Yearly dues were collected. Danny provided another outstanding meal!! Joey demonstrated his plough plane. Richard Darnell presented the iphone amplifier challenge idea. The club agreed to the challenge and April 6th was set as the due date!!
Meeting 1-5-23
The club met at Ty’s shop. Joey turned a bowl and everyone envied Ty’s new bowl chuck. Marshal Boles attended the meeting as a guest and won the bowl that joey turned. Great meeting, good job Joey!!
Veterans Breakfast 11-12-22
The West Texas Woodworkers had the honor of donating some of our work to be raffled off at the annual Hockley County Veterans Breakfast. Great work and great cause.

Club met at Randy’s shop. Danny Farr catered BBQ, rumored to be road kill, but was delicious nonetheless!! Joey demoed his sharpening technique.

Club met at Randy’s shop. Guest speaker Kent Cromwell discussed some different ideas concerning our club. Pizza was provided!!

Club met at Randy’s shop. A collection of woodworking books and magazines were collected and the WTW Library was established. (In other words we put a bunch of magazines in a tote)

Club met at Ty’s shop. Mr. Gregory was kind enough to provide pizza. Joey Johnson demonstrated hand carved inlays. Danny Farr and Brian Gerstenburger joined the club. Welcome to the club!!
2nd Annual Club BBQ 7-9-22
This years BBQ was held at Ty Gregory’s home. Delicious burgers and great company!! Due to a relatively low turn out, we plan to have our future bar-b-ques later in the year.

The club met at Ty’s shop and everyone shared “what’s on the bench”. Apparently we didn’t take any pictures and I am posting this 14 months after the fact, so that’s all I have to say!!
Meeting 5-5-22
The club met at Randy’s shop for a demonstration by Carl Davis. Carl presented and explained his latest project, a pretty awesome bench brush. Randy provided tacos!!
Meeting 4-7-22
Nathan hosted this month’s meeting at his shop. He gave a demonstration of how he builds cabinets. He showed the use of a production CNC, pocket hole machine, edge banding machine, and face frame assembly table. He built a full shop cabinet during the meeting and gave it away as the door prize!
Meeting 3-3-22
West Texas Woodworkers had a pen turning session! Three lathes were setup and Joey distributed pen blanks for the group. After Joey’s training session the guys were cut loose and each turned a custom pen. Several members went home with turning obsessions after this meeting!
Meeting 2-17-22
The WTW crew held a their annual build off challenge! This years challenge was a mallet build. There were lots of great entries and the winner was selected by vote from the attending members. Rick Huckaby was this year’s build off challenge winner with his wood mallet. He also took home the door prize!

LuLu Pendleton gave a presentation over the Little Free Libraries program! The group looked at current locations and builds. The group is considering ways in which they can partner and offer their expertise to the cause!
